Golden Eagles Grounded At WV

Marquette got blasted by 16th ranked West Virginia as Mike Gansey and Kevin Pittsnogle combined to give the Mountaineers 63 points in a 104-85 win. The Golden Eagles kept the game close in the first half, trailing WV by just five points at halftime, but the Mountaineers ripped off a 17-5 run early in the second half and left Marquette in their wake. Dominic James led the Eagles with 28 points and Joe Chapman scored 18 more. Marquette (12-4, 2-1 Big East) travel to DePaul on Tuesday to face the Blue Demons (8-6, 1-2 Big East).
