Marquette Dispells Blue Demons

The Golden Eagles climbed back into the win column last night with an 82-79 victory over DePaul. To get the victory, Marquette had to fend off a furious attack from the Blue Demons in the second half that cut a 24-point lead down to just two by the time the clock reached the final minute. Steve Novak and Jamil Lott, though, came through with a pair of clutch free throws each to ice the game. Dominic James scored a career-high 29 points in the game and Novak added 24 more. The victory advances the Golden Eagles to 3-2 in the Big East and 13-5 overall. They host Notre Dame (10-5, 1-3 Big East) on Friday.
