Half-Truths On Monday Night Football
Did anyone else notice ESPN’s slight of hand last night during the Monday Night Football game?
While spotlighting Patriots rookie running back Laurence Maroney, they ran video of the former University of Minnesota star from the Wisconsin game last year, and Mike Tirico made some snide remark about how Maroney ran all over the Badgers to the tune of 258 yards. What he failed to say, though, was that Minnesota lost that game when UW blocked a punt in the final minute and recovered the ball in the end zone for the winning touchdown. As proof, here’s video of that play (courtesy of the Oracle of Cheese):
I know they were just trying to show how good the kid is and all, but it still seems a little douchebaggy to leave out that important fact about the game and create the impression that the Gophers beat Wisconsin. Like that would ever happen.

Very good point. It was nice to see the announcers big heads getting booed at halftime.

I have bookmarked this and will watch it on my deathbed so I can go out happy. Outstanding.
