Why Do I Even Read Peter King?

Another Monday and more inanity from Peter King, the Monday Morning Quarterback. While in this week’s edition he goes on at some length about Brett Favre (what’s new) there was this:

The Vikings just didn’t show up. I saw two-thirds of that game, and you can’t tell me the Packers are that much better. Good character doesn’t get overwhelmed like that.

The scoreboard doesn’t lie, PK. 34-0. That is how much better the Packers are than the Vikings. Minnesota, plain and simple, sucks as a team and as a franchise. Heck, they can’t even get their own fans to buy tickets to home games.

With the exception of maybe Adrian Peterson — his injury notwithstanding — the Packers are man for man better than the Vikings. The Packers have better coaches and better ownership and management than the Vikings. Green Bay has a better stadium than Minnesota, better uniforms and colors, a better history, better fans, and a better mascot. (I’ll take none over Ragnar the Horrible.)

On any given day, I’ll take the Packers over the Vikings, Wisconsin over Minnesota, Green Bay over the Twin Cities, and why? Because they’re better.

Wisconsin is a better state than Minnesota, the air is better, the stars shine more brightly there, and the people in Wisconsin are, to a person, kinder, smarter and wiser than in Minnesota. Plus, they make better beer in Wisconsin than in Minnesota.

Packers. Vikings.

The Packers are that much better.
