New Glarus Is Growing

Interesting article in the Journal Sentinel about New Glarus Brewing just south of Madison. Business has been pretty good for the craft brewery, so good in fact that the company is building a second brewery to keep up with demand. Last year New Glarus sold 65,000 barrels of beer, second to Leinenkugel’s (465,000 barrels) in Wisconsin’s craft brewing market.

I’ve never had any New Glarus beer, but the next time I’m up in Wisconsin I definitely need to try some.

Never? As in not even once? You most definitely have to try it. Try them all! Except for their Naked brew … that one’s yellow water. But Spotted Cow, Fat Squirrel, and Yokel are great, as are their seasonals. The small-batch stuff is generally too adventurous for me, but their standard brews are just phenomenal.
