Who Let The Liberal Arts School Into The Tournament?
First off let me say congratulations to Davidson for winning their NCAA tournament game tonight, but no way are they a better team than the Wisconsin Badgers.
I mean, Davidson plays in some kind of makeshift JV league, they’re all 5′9″ and 110 lbs., they all have mommies and daddies who tell them they’re special. Its a private liberal arts school for Christ’s sake. And you’d think for all that tuition money they could afford better than that sorry excuse for a mascot. Jeesh!
No, the better team on the court in Detroit did not win tonight. The better team did not play up to the level that they should have. The Badgers did not execute the way that they should have, did not take advantage of their size and strength, did not play the kind of game they should have been playing to win. It looked like UW was trying to out-finesse a finesse team, but you never win that way.
All I’m saying is any one player on the Wisconsin squad out-weighed any two of those kids from Davidson, so why weren’t they just driving straight through them to the basket? Why weren’t they playing the kind of physical Big Ten basketball that got them a #3 seed in the first place? A couple good elbow shots to the nose would have shut that Curry kid down in hurry. (Yes, I used to root for the Pistons back in the ’80s.)
This was such a great season for the Badgers — Big Ten regular season champions, Big Ten tournament champions — it was pretty heartbreaking to see it end that way. Yes, we’re all still proud of their accomplishments and yes they gave us much to cheer, but just like the Packers the dream ended a little too soon.
And so the sports misery continues.

Ooops. I meant to comment on “Google Reader Can Kiss Their Green & Gold Ass.” Guess I might as well kiss Google Reader’s ass, too. Sheesh.
