Let The Circus Commence

A few days ago I was all clickety-clack on the keyboard writing that I thought all this Brett Favre unretirement talk was a bunch of hooha. Well, I guess I’m eating those words now.

Apparently No. 4 has sent a letter to the team asking to be released. The obvious first conclusion from this news is that the report comes from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, a chronic liar and scoop hound, so there’s no reason to believe it. But the Packers have put up an official statement on the situation saying basically “Don’t worry, be happy,” so there must be something to it. One can only imagine that he expressed interest in returning, the team (aka Ted Thompson) said no, and now here’s where we are: Our legendary quarterback seeking to be released so he can play with another team.

It’s Friday, so I’m going to get another beer from the fridge and pretend none of this happened.
