Last Chance For Millen?

In spite of the fact that Detroit has amassed a record of 31-81 under his leadership, Matt Millen has had the rock solid support of Lions owner William Clay Ford for seven seasons. However, it sounds like Ford’s son, Bill, is starting to finally lay down the gauntlet.

A report from Kevin Seifert at ESPN says Bill Ford addressed the team the other day at practice, telling them “I expect to win.” Add in the Lions marketing slogan for this season — Believe in Now — and it looks like expectations are running high in the Motor City.

So is Ford the Younger finally fed up with Millen’s mismanagement? If Detroit doesn’t come through with a winning season this year, we could see a shakeup in the front office there. Which would be too bad, really, because personally I think Millen’s been doing a bang-up job.
